Tremonton & My Favorite Week On The Mission

Image
You guys I made it! I'm in my favorite area in the whole mission!!  Here's why it's my favorite: ☆ The sunsets are so pretty here  ☆ There's a ton of work to do but it's not overwhelming  ☆ I love my companion  ☆ It is so calm here, enough to feel the spirit a LOT  ☆ The Stakes are so missionary minded it's insane  ☆ We are going to be going to a lot of activities. fairs, international nights, rodeos, lots of missionary meetings too ☆ There's this dog named Sammy in our apartment that I absolutely LOVE and comes down to the basement and wakes us up/workouts with us/ says hi every time we come in and it brings me so much joy  I've been having an interesting experience recently when we have out lessons because the spirit is so strong that my mind is completely clear without any thoughts. It's a relief for me because I am thinking constantly whether I like it or not As an 03'baby, it's kind of funny to see the 05' Elders coming in now. I mad...

I Got COVID

Image
Hey! This has been probably the most uneventful week of my misison, because we really only got to go outside once this week.  I started to feel sick right about Sunday. My throat and nose was on fire with pain. Then it felt like I had a sinus infection. I should have paid attention to this symptom though: I tasted my herbal tea and it tasted like soap.  Despite that, Nurse trappett thought it was allergies and got a doctor to prescribe antibiotics for me. Then I got a fever so we were home for 2 days.  So then we roll up to interviews (because i felt fine) with President and then Sister Holley looked at Hermana Hemmingway and she looked TERRIBLE and kicked her out of getring their interviews. She said that everyone was getting COVID because we were together at Sisters conference. I was like "oh shoot" and was kind of annoyed that nothing was said earlier.  Right after I had my interview with President, me and Hermana Groves and I took COVID tests. I took 2, and both ...

Lookin' Like A Burnt Tortilla

Image
Hola Amigos! To explain the title, we met this guy outside who turned to his brother and said "dang you lookin' like a burnt tortilla" and i find it so funny  Today was a great week! This ward is so good at fellowshipping our friends when we don’t have set lessons. We invited Frank and David to a baptism and they went! Frank said that he felt a celestial presence there. A member came to drive them home and told them "oh by the way- bishop bought tickets to go with you to see the Tabernacle Choir in Salt lake today at 4pm" and he was like "ok! Let's do it!" We were so jealous. It was a performance about pioneer work in Latin america and that lady from encanto was there!!  It was hot this week, and to be honest I have been sick since Friday. But, we were able to find 2 new people to teach! They both seem pretty interested and we are excited for them. We had an amazing Miracle at Church yesterday! Franks wife Majuri came to Church on Sunday! She had b...

Another One Bites The Dust

Image
Hello!  Did you know i'm the 4th oldest (soon to be 3rd oldest) Hermana in the mission? And my comp goes home in like 2 transfers (and I leave the transfer after). So to translate my mission language I was just using, i'm an old missionary and time is flying fast. Me and my comp are pretty trunky, but it's a pretty normal thing. She hits double digits (so under 100 days left) tomorrow until she goes home.  So we didn't have any lessons this week So we've been walking out in the sun. The weather is now in the 90's (last year it was well around 110s ish) and my comp is from Alaska So it's not an easy time, but who said it was going to be easy? Lol  We did have this extra zone conference about the new Preach my Gospel. It's so great! I am struggling a bit in my personal studies because we are only allowed to do 30 minutes of the Book of Mormon and 30 minutes of preach my gospel. I can't read talks or anything ouside of those resources for that hour and ...

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Image
Buenos Días Hermanos y Hermanas!  I got to do something that was on my bucket list: I learned how to roll ice cream! A member showed us how to do it. If you want to see the video it's in my Google photos drive right now:  https://photos.app.goo.gl/ PNwVdvxhDr4vp9ak9 Also an aussie ran up to us and it was so cute and tiny  Anyways we had a lesson with this kid and he said that he knows this religion that believes in the "flying spaghetti monster". He showed us the web page and everything!  This week we had a zone conference that marked the commemoration of the martyrdom of Joseph Smith. In the Utah Ogden Misison, we were asked to integrate with the service misisonaries as soon as possible so they joined is in our zone conference! They had a presentation and 3 shors were fired. They were a lot louder than I was expecting. We also did a lot of team bonding games to practice working in unity with all missionaries. It was so much fun!  I started to reflect on my expe...
