Ummm Welp Last Normal Week

Hola! This coming up week will be my last normal week! Our area is on fire right now and it helps me a lot to keep being focused.

I was talking to an elder (because he saw my painted book of mormon in Spanish) and he said that at the end of his mission he will paint the flags of all of the people who he has baptized. And so I decided to draw them on the last page of my book. And it gave me a different perspective on "baptizing nations".

Just a fair warning to all of those who are missionaries (but I also think this applies to people in general) you will never be able to be perfect at anything, and that actually has given me a good perspective this week.

This week has had a lot of different attacks of the adversary. The lord has shown me that I need to get better at my technology habits and for me it's like "oh man why didn't I know this earlier? I could have more time to get better at it" but who says that I have to stop practicing it when I get home? It's been helping me a lot as I try not to panic about things that I might have to leave unfinished.

I got to give a training on Grace!! It was awesome!! I am glad they let me do that.i have been studying that word for the past couple of months and I challenge you to look the word up ik the bible dictionary and figure out how it applies in your life.

So sister Bywater is on Vacation and so we decided to turn the heat off and just sit in our apartment and do our studies in our hoodies and thermals. Why are we doing it? You might ask... because we like sleeping when the basement is cold and it conserves energy too. #we'rejustweirdlikethat

Maderlyn was having a hard time this week and we organized a meeting so that she could recieve a blessing. This is the second time this transfer that we messaged our friends at the right time and it's amazing to watch! She really opened up and we know that she is looking to have God more in her life. She told us that she is looking for spiritual healing when she goes to church, not financial help.

Last Sunday we had stake conference and sister holley asked us to stand up and called us "latino sisters" and we fould it funny because both of us are american. But we told our recent converts about it and they are trying to convince us that we are "latino" because we speak good spanish and we like posole.

We were sitting there planning, and we snt a text to Paola and out of the blue she texted "what can I do to get baptized?" And we were like WHAAAAAT!! So we are going to plan a fecha with her on Tuesday.

Sunday was a packed day!
#1 5 new inactive families went to Church
#2 I bore my testimony in sacrament meeting because next sunday will be my last sunday in the mission
#2 Zoe wants to get baptized and her Father saw her at church today! He is going to talk to our stake president to see if he can get permission to baptize her.
#3 We drove out of our Church meeting and we saw this guy selling a vunch of jesus and mary pictures on the side of the road and I was like "man on a sunday?"
#4 out of nowhere we saw a fire near one of our friends apartments and I was like "oh no OLIVER" (He's a 5 year old boy that’s part of the family) but everything was ok the fire burned a shed that was further away from the apartments.
#5 We had a musical devotional in Logan and I kept tearing up in a certain part of the song "This is the Christ". It says "How many drops of blood were spilled for me?" And I can't help but think about all that the Savior has went through for me. He really did live my life and felt all that I felt and I just hope to continue to express to him how grateful I am for his sacrifice for me.

I have had now 3 conversations with people that have told me that arriving home is a lot harder than when I left and I just pray that I can have a fast adjustment. I am also trying not to get too stressed about it because if I do it will make the adjustment a lot harder than it could have been. It's a wild ride. 9 days!

Adíos,
Hermana Vestel
