The Day Dawn Is Breaking
My Last Zone Conference
The fact that my missionary service was coming to an end hit me at zone conference. I just looked around and realized that it came in full circle.
I was asked to give the closing prayer and I had to pray that I wouldn't start sobbing during the prayer. I made it out with a shaky voice. I got a lot of hugs after.
Halloween inside was a blast
Sister Holley let us watch "the witnesses", we bleached t-shirts and put cool designs on them, and then we slept. It was fun!
My Compy's Birthday!!
She's 20 now! It was so much fun how she got surprise after surprise. I hope that she knows that she is loved and appreciated. Fernando went above and beyond, making us quesadillas and a good sauce and gave her 3 birthday cards and a nice shirt feom goodwill that’s good to proselyte with. Fernando is so cool.
Speaking of Fernando, we had 2 lessons with him trying to show him that he is ready for the priesthood. He eventually accepted the chance to recieve it, trusting that us (and the lord) will prepare him for it.
Last Temple trip with the Zone!!
It was surreal and I have gained a firm testinomy that the lord is proud of my service and because of that he has a lot in store for me.

Interview with President Holley
This was my favorite interview with him so far. It went really well!
I told him that I am going back to SVU to swim and he was happy because I was so giddy about it. He said that I am laying some good foundations when I get home. He gave me a blessing too. I told him my plans to serve in ways after the mission and how I was going to keep my spiritual foundation.
We got to watch the first night with Maderlyn and her husband asked us a couple of questions like if we drink or can we get tatoos. It was a friendly conversation and it went well.
The second night we missed it but we had a good conversation with an english family
Stake Conference
- Saturday Session
A member of the seventy spoke and said "don't go to church. Go to your covenant". Basically you should be going to church because you want to renew your baptismal covenant with the lord.
- Sunday Session
(BTW, Fernando rode his bike twice to both meetings because he didn't have a ride. This man is dedicated!!) What stood out to me the most is that Church should be a place to learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, not to follow the path that others take. The path to God is between you ane him, in the path that he has placed for us.
Fall back
I woke up sunday morning confused why it was light out and I realized it was fall back (daylight savings) and I was like yesssss because I actually got good sleep!! You gotta count the little blessings too.
Angie
We were talking to Angie and she was telling us that she was reading the Book of Mormon and studying it and as she set it down... out of nowhere it dissapeared. She tore everything in the apartment and then said "satan I rebuke you! Leave my presence" and said it while opening the door and her husband said "locooooo" which means "you are crazy". So we laughed and gave her another one to study.
Oh a word of advice for language learning - just do a couple of language activities rhat you like doing. Because if you like them, you will do them more consistently and learn more and faster than just trying to force yourself to learn a language in a way that you hate (therefore getting frustrated with the language.) And I am saying this from the experience of a years worth of doing it the wrong way!
I would like to testify thta I love my Savior and I hopr that you can partake of his joy and his live like I have. I know that my reading the Book of Mormon we will find our way back home if we apply the teachings contained in them (and the bible too!) In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
