Rocks In The Baptismal Font

Hola Hola! Como ha estado??

We had a crazy baptism for Fernando. We had taught him pretty much everything to get him ready for his interview, and he passed with Flying Colors. His Fellowship and my companion were doubting that he was ready and in my prayers I hoped that they could see that he was ready. Eventually they saw and knew that he was ready. PHEW! Thank goodness that our mission meetings didn't start until next week because it wouldn't have been possible to baptize him without that miracle.

As we were trying to fill the font, the plug was leaking... 1 hour before the baptism. So we got a plastic trash bag and filled a trashcan of  rocks from the front of the Church and all of us started running with buckets, hoses and pitchers to fill up the font on time. It's one of my mose memorable baptisms so far.

We went to a Quinceñera for our friend Tiffany that we are teaching and it was a cool experience. No, we were not silently singing the lyrics to all of the Taylor Swift songs that came on. She was happy to see us there.

Oh yeah, and all of these events we went to on Saturday we walked because we are doing "super step saturdays" now, so we walked from the church to the baptism, and then hone. #mylegsaresosore

On Sunday, we had his confirmation and to give a back story, we fooled everybody in english class saying that we were both leaving the area for transfers... and Hermano Mortimer got very mad but forgave us... or so we thought lol. So we called Hermano Mortimer right before Sacrament meeting asking if he picked up Fernando to take him to his Confirmation and he Said "was I supposed to do that?" And my heart STOPPED for a second and he said "Touché" meaning "I got you back" so he actually did have him in his car. So now the pranks are even.
> They had us missionaries (and service missionaries) sing called to serve in Spanish with the kids during the primary program. It was so cute!!

Most of my recent converts are hitting 1 year now and so I have been contacting misisonaries so that they know that they need to be visited (unfortunately all went into inactivity after they were baptized) and in the end it taught me that I can't keep worrying about them and taking upon myself the responsibility and blame that they are inactive because it almost took away my joy for Fernando at his baptism. They are not of my fold now. I can't take away their plan of salvation thinking that I need to bring them back. All I can do is invite and encourage.

We had this worldwide Testimony Meeting last night and someone bore their testimony about giving a book of mormon to his russian friend and he said "I don’t know what happened to him, but I do not regret the opportunity that I had" and that was so profound to me. I don’t know what will happen to everyone on my mission, but I will never regret the opportunity that O had to serve.

Things I have learned this week:
- Jesus's Purpose was not to make everybody like him. Of course, we should always strive to be like Jesus Christ and represent him in our thoughts and intentions, but at the same time Jesus had haters because he flipped tables and he was crucified too. "Haters gonna Hate ×5"
- Being an old missionary or an older person doesn't make you mistake proof. You may not repeat mistakes before, but you make new ones, and then you try to repent and move on.

Some of my other favorite things of this week:
Tacos with Carne Asada
Hermano Gil got me a world cup soccer jersey from Perú and it's literally my favorite thing from my mission now!!
Those Boo buckets from Mc Donald's (so many memories from those)
