La Fiesta International

Hola Hola!!

we had to walk in a super wet parade but it was fun!

Transfers went almost smooth. As Hermana Villareal went into the shuttle down to Ogden I realized that she took the car keys with her!! The shuttle guy (Mr. White the GOAT) drove all the way back and wa
s able to get us our keys. We sat there in the chapel for almost 2 hours but it wasn't a big deal.

We got Hermana Bastian's TIWI (just in time before I can't use my tiwi anymore)

Maria Tapia is getting Married!! They have been taught for many years and have been invited many times to be baptized but the one thing that held them up was that they didn't want to be married. When she told us, I was filled with so much joy knowing that they have made that decision on their own and that I was able to witness this miracle. We are going to invite them to be baptized next week after the wedding!

Cleaning the Firths House (I LOVE service!) Sister Firth was hospitalized and the daughter called us asking if we could come clean the house whole Nobody was home for a couple of hours. I found a lot of joy doing that too. We don't get too much service around here.

The Fiesta was so awesome! Hermana Bastian was a trooper for learning the dance in 48 hours. I know that she was sent here for that as a reason, because she actually used to be a dancer before the mission. I saw this member with a Peruvian soccer shirt so I walked up to him and asked him where he got it from (because I really want one for christmas) and he said he got it from Perú but he has an extra one he can get for me. I am so excited!!

We had an amazing talk with a returned missionary who was an Hermana in Nebraska. I walked out there with a different missionary focus that I am so grateful for!! Here were some highlights from the conversation:
1) If Jesus Came into the room and saw you, what would he say? He would Hug you and tell you "I love you. Thank you for your service in my name". He wouldn't ask you how many Baptisms you had.
2) What is the biggest questions an RM gets asked all the time? I think it would be "what was your favorite part about the mission?" "What was the craziest interaction you had?" Etc. No one would be asking you what was your highest K.Is week.
3) You are called to serve people. That's the most memories you have...are with people.
4) Please don't be a 45 year old missionary! You are 20! You just graduated from being a teenager! What did christ ask us to become? "Like a little child". Members get excited for missionary work when they see you happy. Because they want that kind of joy too!
5) And maybe it was a hard week but sometimes you have to laugh so that you don’t cry - (probably my favorite line)

My goal in this second to last transfer I have is to not sweat the little stuff. I would invite you to try it with me. I have been feeling a lot more joy because of it.
