Fire Across The Street
Hola Mis Amigos!
Here are the crazy stories from this week:
My companion tried to save a dragonfly from dying. She took it in the car with us and put it in a box in the house. It died the next morning :( it was an adventure tho I love my comp and her crazy ideas
A house caught on fire right across the street from our basement apartment. It looked terrible. We came home at 9pm and the firefighters were outside so we walked up and asked if anyone needed a prayer but they said that the family went to the hotel already.
I reeeeealy want to go to Machu Pichu when I have the money but our friends from Perú told me that I have to eat güy there which is a cooked guinea pig. They asked if they sold any here and I said "maybe at the pet store"
They have some sort of quail farms here in Tremonton? I have no idea
And here is how the missionary work is going:
Oh yeah Gloria said no to Baptism. She went to an activity in the Catholic Church and she decided she would rather stay where her family us attending. It was so sad but you have to respect people’s agency.
Y'all, after 9 months of just planting seeds in all of my past areas, We have found a family of 3 that has accepted the invitation to be baptized. I was holding back tears of joy when they accepted. My months of being prepared for this moment are over. I am so excited that I can help someone for one last time (or a few more times, a lot can happen in 60 days). They set a date for October 22nd!!
-> but then I realized that I put my focus in a box again. I have been helping a TON more than I give myself credit for.
We had zone Conference and there's a lot of overwhelming changes. We can't use Facebook until P-days now, we have to do a weekly "car fast", lots of things about how to increase our baptismal numbers. Ngl it is hard to be in a numbers focused mission! It's killing me! I am realizing that I am focusing my worth on the numbers and its been hard. If you have any advice please help an old misisonary out!
We helped out at a baptism before. We had to go undercover so that we can fill up the font in the men's bathroom. It was hilarious
Our friend Tiffany is 15 now! We celebrated with her and I gave her a drawing of her hugging Jesus Christ side by side. She loved it!!
Here is how I'm doing:
There's been a lot of moments where I was like "oh man I am focusing on the numbers too hard" or "oh man I am getting to distracted" but other moments where I just had to sit and take a breath because we weren't able to do everything we were asked to. I found that 90% of problems just need time to sit and wait without making big decisions. I was in sacrament meeting and none of our friends came and as I was about to tear up, and then I got my tiny sketchbook and drew Jesús praying with a girl at her bedside and I looked up and realize that I wasn't crying anymore. That's the art of sitting, waiting, and then seeing the blessings come.
I was reading in personal study and was reading this paper which Is written in the old times writing in D&C 11:8 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, even as you desire of me so it shall be done unto you; and, if you desire, you shall be the means of doing much good in this generation". I am so grateful to be apart of his work.
We got some cool conference news and I was supposed to be going to the Sunday Afternoon session with some awesome people (and one of them just had a birthday recently! Happy birthday) and I could have seen my SISTER but the APs asked us if we could switch to the Saturday Morning session and plus, they would get a ticket for my companion soooo I had to make the trade off. Sorry sis I love you
I have a ton of Halloween decorations pictures already in our area. Halloween is my favorite Holiday!!
Have a great week!!
