God Is Good Y'all

Missionary updates:
- It's rained every single day this week
- We're doing a volleyball tournament for sports day (not 100% excited for it)
- we got to do service at the cannery!! We met a super cool service missionary and was telling us about all the cool things you can do
- We had a member lesson with this familly that was mentioned in the October 2017 General conference talk by Gary E. Stevenson (look for the name Fernando and you will find the amazing story!!)
- we went to this clothing drive to help out with and I scored some chacos! I really like them
- MY BACK IS IN FULL RECOVERY!!!!!

We had only one lesson this week and it was with Gerardo. It was on my birthday, he sent us a message asking is if we can meet with him as doon as possible. We got so excited because we invited him to read 3rd Nephi 11 in the Book of Mormon because that scripture was talking about Jesus Christ visiting the Americas and we thought that maybe he actually read it and got a witness of the truthfullness of it. But then, *sighs* he was excited for us to come because he wanted to tell us that he is not interested in reading any more from the Book of Mormon. He just didn't feel the same way about the book of mormon as the bible. It was so heartbreaking. He told me to stop frowning but man, that was a sad birthday present for sure.

Anyways, my friends, even though our area is kind of dying right now, God is still good. He is great. I love him so much and I am so glad to be doing his wotk right now. Here are some of my favorite spiritual thoughts from this week:
- When you get to a point of healing (emotionally and mentally), you get to look at your past and give yourself a lot more grace than you used to. Because you have to come to a point where you realize that you did your best with what you knew and what state where you were in and you can move forward and walk in the Light of Christ. If you sincerely desire a change from where you used to be, he can help you. He can help you find a more eternal perspective than the one you once had.
- Eventually Forgiving your past or moving on has to come from you first. You can't wait for others to do the same. Time is short, it is precious. And I have noticed when I have seen others move on, then I move on too. So why not do it first??
- 2 Nephi 22:5 (Nephi is quoting a scripture from Isaiah) "Sing unto the Lord, for he hath done excellent things; this is known in all the earth" I love this so much. I love to sing songs about Christ's redeeming love.

If any of y'all have time I would love to hear about any updates!! Any fun mission stories, crazy news happening outside the mission, Thank you for reading my emails for the past year now!!
