A Series Of Fortunate (& Unfortunate) Events

I want to apologize in advance, I have to send a lot of picures about this week because my phone decided to stop working Sunday morning. I woke up, there was a white line on the left of my screen. I tried to turn off my alarm and there was this accidental touch screen lock so I couldn't. My companion realized if you press the power button a coulple of times, it turns the alarm off. But a couple of more times  it calls 911. So, 911 gets called and a lady responds and we're totally freaking out and we explained that it was definetly not a emergency. This all happened at 6:30 in the morning. Yeahhhh it's funny now

We had an amaaaaazing lesson with Juan and Felica. I can't deny the experiences that happened in that room. If you want to know about it, I've attatched a voice clip.

Something very special about being a misisonary is that the Spirit, when you listen to it right, will put you in the right place at the right time. Those new friends we met last week? We knocked on their door and they weren't supposed to be home at that time. They came home early. They prayed to find the right help and we came 1-2 days later. Our recently becoming active member? He lived in the bottom apartment and we knocked on the door and he was upstairs. He had a feeling the week before that we would stop by. We meet with members and as we listen to their story and a scripture pops up in our minds... they start tearing up because that is what they needed to hear. My favorite one was on Monday night. We hear many times that we are angels/messengers feom God. But to me, when I saw her looking at me, I had a thought that maybe she knew Jesus Christ before this life and she could recognize him in us; and that it would be our responsibility to help her remember who he is. I know that I have been given this opportunity to represent Jesus Christ and that this work is way more than me and what I could do on my own.

Every time we go to the quick quack apartments we see our buddy Earnest (he's a stoner from Brooklyn who isn't interested but we are BEST friends with him) He makes our day so much better just seeing him laugh

I was talking to my companion about how at the beginning of my mission how some of the things I did kind of dug me into a pit and made things difficult for me as a misisonary. It took me to by back injury to stop and see what I was doing. I didn't take the time to rest and relax for meals and I went and went and went, without slowing down. I thought that if we didn't find 5 new friends a week, our leaders would come down with fire and brimstone. It's funny because this is still a big process of change. Like this week, I have been forcing myself to not run around and clean during my dinner hour and actually rest, relax and charge my battery before miracle time. Mount Lewis is showing me where my limits are and how important it is not to run faster than I am able to. Because a burnt out Hermana Vestel is not helping anybody.
- and also  it's just been a good mental health week. I've been practicing venting how I feel without putting blame on others or me, and I was really supreised to find iut that it lets go of steam and I don't bury it until it explodes.

My vibe according to my companion: "Able to work hard enough to afford her own diamond ring, but would most likely lose that ring in the sink" And I wholeheartedly agree lol

We had a very interesting convo with some english elders and I am not sure what to make of it. You can decide.

I decided to fast to find out how to work with the members in our ward. We go to ward huddle, forst time we had most of the leaders there, and immediately we were like "ok. Let's talk about your organizatons anf bring some names that we can focus on and bring them to their next step" and we had 7 names and had goals and specific dates to help them get to the next level! That was our first really successful ward huddle! God is a God of miracles my friends  and I know it.

Adios! Have a great week guys!
Hermana Vestel
