"Waiting On The World To Change"
We have been meeting some really great people this week! (I've been seeing that successes come line by line)
* We found this inactive member at a door and he said to us "oh yeah, I was expecting you would visit" the spirit had told him apparently and he always follows the spirit. That was how he found the missionaries in the past! He gave us his number and said "give this to your bishop and have them reach out to me. I am ready to come back to church". And we saw him on Sunday!
* we have a return appointment with Eric. His fiancee opened up and said "we just moved in. Babe? You wanted to meet with the misisonaries right?" And he comes to the door and says that he doesn't believe in God but believes in an entity out there and he wants to talk about it with us.
* The car stopping to talk to us
We had this man drive out of a gas pump, but then turned around and parked on the side and started to talk to us. He is a Father that gas SO many doubts and questions. It’s gotten to the point where he doesn't know if there is a god and where he can recieve salvation. He had a lot of negative responses from members and other missionaries and he doesn't feel understood. All that I could muster up to say is that I can see his sincerity and tried to answer his question about Joseph Smith and his translations.
* We were at the Pima Families house and were talking about baptism for kids and yhe spirit prompted me to ask if he wanted to be baptised, and he said yes!! We don't have a date for him yet but he recognized immediately after that they need to get to church.
* Josiah and his parents are changing their hearts around and sre trying to go to church now!!
* Crystal and Arturo
* JUAN CARLOS IS ON DATE
*Jorge (the younger). Such a great dude.
One sad thing that did happen this week was that we may have to Drop Jorge the Elder (the one with the guitars) because we haven't been able to find any members that are willing to make time and go with us. We can't be inside the house without having 2 men or one woman inside and it's been aboit 3 weeks since we've seen him. It’s really sad but without the wards help, there isn't much we can do.
I don't want to make this email too long so you can read the journal entries I have on the ones I didn't make big descriptions on.
I have been having a lot of issues getting my medication here in Utah (i'm on new insurace now but my medication is so scarce) and it was a bit scary because I didn't know what was going to happen to me. I knew that I could possibly go home if I couldn't find it because I wouldn't be able to handle the strsses on this misison. After a prayer, a pharmacy about 30 minutes away had a supply for me and I took thay as a sign that I need to be here on the mission and he will help provide for what I need.
So we had a kind of a nasty call with our STL. Remember the problems I was having with leaders? Yeah they’re still happening (really It’s mostly one) If you want to see the conversation we had with her, I took a picture of what I wrote about the conversation. I didn't write all of it. Keep in mind, there was a lot of cutting off and passive aggressiveness. But in the end, we did make adjustments to ease the issue, but it’s getting to the point where we are scared of sending in our plans for the next day in fear that we are going to get chastized so we are going to talk to her on our "quality time call" on Tuesday about it. We feel like it's getting to the point where we can't be honest with her and we don't feel like she trusts us at all so we hope the conversation goes well.
Temple!!
President Holley allowed us to make time to go to the temple this week and wow it was breathtaking. There have been a couple of changes, and though there are some sacred things about the temple that I cannot share, I can say for certain that what we do in the the temple now helps me see how it's important in the plan of salvation, the doctrine of Christ, and exaltation. If any of you are willing to go, please make time to see it. I can't even express how much I want all of you to see it.
I went hiking with my companion yhis morning and it was amazing!! That was on my bucket list in the misison and my back was good enough to finally do that!
Two weeks I hit halfway! Happy Valentines Day (tomorrow!)
“So I keep on waitin' waitinnn' waiting on the world to change”
Have a great week everyone!
