"His Cologne Was Stronger Than The Spirit"

Hello guys!! I hit 8 months on my mission today! Crazy right?? 

A) The Music drive is permanently deleted

Hold on.... just give me a second (*Screams into a pillow*) so every mission in the world right now was asked to delete all copyrighted music because it is illegal to share music. I understand that, but then 3 hours later, President Holley asked us to delete all songs from our phones and we are now can only listen to hymns and the youth music on the Sacred Music app. I understand, but man I am going to get sick of this music so fast I know it. 

B) knocking trailer parks *Dun Dun Dunnnnn*

- Old lady in just a diaper - enough said

- Flaming Ginger 

We knock on his door and this angry 6'4 ginger opens and screams "what do you want?!?" And we say "We're the spanish speaking missionaries-" and cuts us off and says "Get the F*** off of my porch" and BOOM slams the door on us. I hear him stomping so we ran down the steps. 

- The new cop outs that latinos use for doors 

So uh at first they would say hi in english so we day hi in English and then would say "no hablo Inglés" so we start speaking in spanish and they look at you with a dissapointed face and say "why are you outside when it's this cold?" (It’s around 29*) and closes the door. It’s relly interesting

I made a goal to realize my blessing that "I am the Master of my Own life" and The Spirit had been giving me so much revelation and answers on how to do it!! 

- Sisters Conference

   • We had a super cute sisters conference and talked about the role of the priesthood. 

- Elder Bednar's talk about confidence 

  • so we have a 3-5 page talk we have to write for next conference about how to be a better missionary and we were asked to use quotes from a talk by Elder Bednar. In this talk I loved how he said that to gain confidence we need to look at our pasts and instead of beating ourselves aboit the past, but to see the Lords hand through all of it and trusting that he will help you again. I love that ao much!

- Seeing Elder Uchdorf in person!!

  • it was so cool! He talked about very simple truths about how we are children of God 

 

I got my TIWI so I can finally drive now! Please pray for me I haven't driven a car for 8 months now :) 

Also to explain the title I decided to read a page in my past journal and I was laughing because we had a lesson with a person that was wearing an overwhelming amount of cologne and so I wrote that quote in my journal lol
