Shaking Elder Christofferson's Hand

Hello you guys! This has been a pretty amazing week!

I started to do a gratitude journal and write 3 things I am grateful for every day and it is completely changing my perspective on things, it's changed my countenance, it has changed the way I respond to hardships. If I knew how much happier I am because I'm keeping keeping a gratitude journal I would have started long ago. I go throughout the day and look for things to be grateful so I can put them in my journal. So that's my invitation to you! I would highly invest in making your own gratitude journal.

Sunday was just an absolute insane amount of miracles. Like so insane. Over 10 non members came to church this Sunday! Maybe it's something about the Christmas season...IDK. We found 7 new friends to teach that evening. And then, we met a family from venesuela that had a member come and help them get settled here and in the first lesson we had with them, they mentioned that they wanted to be baptized and have their kids grow in the church. Literally so cute! We are throwing a wedding for them and then they will be baptized on December 24th!

The meeting with Elder Christofferson was amazing. I shook his hand and sister Kirsten M. Yee's hand too! Apparently they had a Q&A session that our Mission President didn't tell everyone about so most of us has our minds blank. But the people who got to ask questions gave some really good questions that I had in my prayers and the answers were exactly what I needed.

Here are some spiritual thoughts I had:

1) this was a post from Moriah Davis and she was talking about the Sermon on the mount. She shared Matthew 5:11-12 and she said that most of us think of counting our blessings by the things we have been given, like "I am grateful for my house or the food on my plate" but Jesus Christ redefines blessings. He says "blessed are the peacemakers" or "blessed sre the meek". These are all attributes of Christ. So, we are blessed by the attributes of Christ we strive to obtain and I think it's a beautiful thought.

2) this scripture is one of my favorite and I keep looking back at it as a possible motto for my future family one day. It's in the Book of Mormon and it's in 2nd Nephi 25:26 and it says: "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." If I had one thing that I taught my family one day, it would be Jesus Christ. He is the center of my life and I would not be here without him.

Have an awesome week!!
