Are You Lost, Momma Llama?
Buenos Días! Hopefully the 3 days hasn't been too long of a wait
To explain the title, we were walking home to our house and this guy was smoking on his front porch and he yells out "Are you lost, momma llama?" Pfffff lol we were laughing so hard once we were out of hearing range from him. I have been here in J2 for so long that those kids of things don't even phase me anymore.
We had a really cool experience with our new friends Juan and Oralia. We were teaching them how to pray and we invited them to do it, and they didn't feel like they could do it immediately so we said that for this time we can start the prayer and they can repeat after us, but the next time they had to try it on their own. So, after this prayer Oralia said that she felt something different. She felt like a light just came from heaven. She had never felt that before. She felt the Spirit as she prayed!! That is the first time I have ever heard that someone has felt the Spirit that directly when she prayed. I am so excited for her and how they continue to progress!
I realized that my last email I didn't say what I was grateful for. Here you go!
Things I am grateful for:
FIZ (you utahns get it)
The Spirit
Sketchbooks to draw in
A good coat (thanks sis for letting me take it :) Utah is really cold right now)
The friends we get to help to come to christ
Modern Medicine
Also another pretty interesting experience... there was a fireworks celebration but unfortunately I couldn't see the fireworks so I panicked because it sounds exactly like the bombs I heard in Nigeria. So pro tip: I need to see where the fireworks are coming from or I'm going to have to blast some Christmas Music
Here's a spiritual thought: so my companion shared Alma 22:18 with me and we started to talk about why holding in your pains from your past/what's happened or happening to you isn't a good idea. The basic answer we came up was that each of us have those moments where we want to hold on to our sins and our pain for a long time...maybe even to the end of our lives even. We may have reasons like we don't want people knowing that we struggle or maybe struggling is all that we know and it would feel different/wrong if we just let it go. But we have to remember that Jesus Christ paid the price so that we don't have to carry/drag our crosses around with us. We are not here to suffer by ourselves.
Well that's all folks! Lemme know if you got questions, or tell me your life updates! It seems like because I am doing these emails regularly everyone just went silent. Anyways have a great week!
Also I have a crockpot now and I am so excited to make so many good recipies :)

1) So we were talking to the STLs during our weekly ministering call that Hermana Dababneh hasn't tried FIZ yet (and I haven't tried any in the past month and a half) so the next day around dinner time, someone drops our orders off! (And you know me I had to get the diet coke caffeine free soda with sugar free raspberry syrup and cream)
2) my crock pot
3) we put leaves on our friends doors saying we were grateful for them
4) the snow hasn't stayed at all in Ogden yet
5) gnocchi with pesto
