The Art Of Dodging From Bees
Happy Monday everyone!
I said that I may do 2 weeks at a time but I feel like there would be too much to put into an email so you may hear from me every week lo siento
We had a week of scary things happen and then miracles following them after!
So at the beginning of a week we made a safe word to use when there is a dangerous situation, and we decided to use avocados because I somehow have a recent allergy to them. So we got to use it later in the day because there was a man that started to follow us. He had his hat down and was walking the same pace as us on the other side of the street, and then he crossed over to our side and stayed with us for a block or two. So I used the code word to tell her and so we decided to try to make a break for the church building, which worked out because we lost him. But then, 2 days later we had a different man under the influence of a concoction of things trying to get our attention and we made a super fast walk to a different street. Moral of the story is, Ogden is sketchy but the lord is on our side and the spirit is there to help warn us of danger. I am also so so grateful for a companion!
We also found money, cards and a wallet case on the street and we picked it up and then this man in a car stopped at the stop sign, rolled down his window, and yelled like he was trying to scare us in a haunted house. I jumped and screamed and he laughed and drove away. After I calmed down I realized how the adversary will do everything in his power to stop the good that your doing. Even if he has to use bees, dogs, or loud cars passing by during a lesson.
I realize how important it is when members fellowship with investigators and recent converts. We as missionaries are only there for a temporary time and are there to teach and invite. The members are the people that plant the seeds and show the investigators how to live it. And it is so important to talk to converts after their baptism because the gospel is a foreign language and the church is a foreign way of life. When they feel that they are alone in trying to live this new way they will turn back to the life they knew and the people they once knew. But I have also learned that it's also a decision if someone goes inactive too. It's a really cool perspective that I have never thought before. So I would like to invite you guys to invite a friend to an activity or fellow with a recent convert!
So we had a giant miracle happen... we have this "red zone" that we were not allowed to go in unless with a member. It was there for about 10 months so little to no missionary work was happening and it took about 1/3 of our teaching area. But....ITS OPEN!!! AAAAAAAAAA we can go now as a companionship (of course guided by the spirit) but this is such a blessing because this field is so white and we have so many people to teach!! We have found 3 new people to teach in the past 2 days and I know the lord's timing is perfect.
Also, some of you may not know this but Spanish is my 4th language and I used to speak Italian and French. Someone said a prayer in Portuguese (which is a mix of French, Italian and Spanish) and I understood all of it. It was so cool!
Stay safe y'all! I'll try to do the same
