The MTC Is A Blast
Hello everyone! I can't believe i've been in the MTC for a week now! I wish I could say my transition to the Utah weather was fantastic, however unfortunately I started the MTC sick. I am still sick, but i've got faith that things will get better for me but i'm trying my best to be a productive missionary in the meantime.
I got to meet a guest that was from Nigeria on my first few days in and I absolutely loved her and meeting her just reminded me how humble and amazing the people in Nigeria were when I lived there. I also met some french sisters and as I tried to speak french to them half of the words came out in spanish! I guess that shows me how amazing the gift of tongues is and that this language is actually sticking in my brain now!
I had an interesting gospel thought playing basketball with part of the district... I was thinking about how I took a million shots before I actually made a basket. I thought it was very relatable to missionary work because you will go to many doors and have them closed on you until you meet that one person or family that will listen to you and turn to Jesus Christ and his gospel. But I need to keep trying and have the faith that I will make that basket, save that soul, because if you give up you will never make that basket. You miss all of the shots you don't take.
I absolutely love my district and my teachers! I know that I probably won't get to have this really cool connection out in the field so i'm trying to make the most of it.
Speaking of awesome people, I saw Ellie Lawson in the MTC today! I was so happy and shocked that I would know someone here! I just went and did a temple endowment session and she was in there and that was such a good feeling.
I want to invite you guys to think about how God speaks to you. We all know that we have a small list of a few ways that he speaks to us, but I know that there are a million other ways he speaks to us and we can ask him to reveal those ways to us in our lives.
I have tons of photos in this email to show you! I miss all of you guys!
