Apostles At The MTC??

Hola Mi Amigas!

This has been such a great week and also a hard week at the MTC!

I wanna start with the hard experience first before getting to reveal the miracles that happened the rest of the week. Hermano Larson is not going to be our teacher next week because he hit his 3 year mark of teaching. I knew we were his last district but I got really upset because he has been such a great teacher and example in my life. He just knew us individually and no matter how many times I have moved away and left people behind, it still feels the same when you lose someone you look up to or care about. I had to take my pain to the lord and pray that there is a reason for this happening and I hope to eventually lead by his example to those that I will teach in the field.

Starting with miracles, The MTC had a very special week where 168 new mission presidents(including the wives... I think that's the right number) I came to the MTC and got taught by the quorum of the 12 apostles before they go to their assigned missions. We expected to have a devotional with one apostle  and we did, but the rest of the quorum and their wives sat behind the stand!! (except for elder Christofferson) I was so close! That was definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity to be there and listen to Elder Bednar's words.

I met a very special mission president and his wife, the Doxeys! They were stake presidents over the YSA stake at SVU in Buena vista. He was the reason I was able to get to my mission on time instead of getting my call to serve in mid - July. They are so awesome and I am so grateful I got to meet them again.

The MTC is really changing my life and preparing me for great miracles to come when I arrive in the field. I have added a new reason for why I want to serve a mission, and that is because I want to show others how to struggle with Jesus Christ in their lives rather than struggling through life alone.

I didn't realize that when others look at art, some can feel the spirit and feel God's love for them, so I'll share a drawing so that you can feel that too.

We had a great talk in class about the story of finding Jesus Christ's favorite color. There was a missionary that said that she knows it's the color red (red represents blood and sins) because he loved sitting with red people. The point is, Jesus Christs loves sitting with us red people because of our imperfections. Jesus Christ is not here to bleach you down and step away from you when you do sin. He will sit next to you and offer you the help to repent and try again.

Lots of great stuff this week! Know that I'm thinking about each and every one of you!

Hermana Vestel
