Not Sure What The Subject Is

We packed up our stuff AGAIN and moved back into our old apartment. Since the beginning of this transfer, I have moved like 4 times. Out of Mount Lewis to Hyrum, Hyrum to Ogden, moved out of the old apartment and this week back into the old apartment, and this Sunday we find out abkut transfers so i'm 99% sure that I don’t really need to unpack at this point because they need to close an area. Luckily my Military moving skills come in handy (sort of its more like extreme vacation packing)  We went with Carina to the temple and it was such an amazing experience. When I was baptized in place of he names provided, I fent this burning in my chest. I know that this work is so important. They were all from france!!  Literally a miracle happened, we were talking about the Doctrine of Christ with iur friend Isabel and she told us that she wanted to be baptized! We were like WHAT we never thought that we would put someone on date this transfer. Butt we will have to move hwr date becaus...

Flapjacks

Every week gets better as a companionship. Making adjustments to our plan helps us so much to get better little by little. At the beginning of the week we were struggling with our friends, our most progressing friends said no to baptism, our other friends weren't opening their doors and we passed off 2 families and 7 new friends were passed off to other companionships. We thought that Heavenly Father was ready to close this area at the end of the transfer. But then soon after we started to have a stronger companionship, we started to teach with the spirit and find more elect people to teach. Things are not perfect but we are a strong companionship now and I am grateful that the lord is able to put his children into our hands.  We had a final pass off lesson with a family that moved into J3 and Hermana Camela took it so well. We were talking about how we call "pancakes" in english but me and Hermana Spaulding looked at each other and agreed that we call them flapjacks (she...

I'm so glad I checked what eggs is actually spelled like in Spanish lol Anyways this week has been improving a lot!! Some of my favorite takeaways from conference is 1) The talk about the "imperfect harvest". This is a talk that I have been searching for many years of my life. I am greateful that I get to have it now and apply it in my life. So, we went on Exchanges and I went with Hermana Dababneh up to Brigham City. She helped me realized that teaching 20 people in an area is a good thing and that you shouldn't be worried about it and teaching people is good. So at the end of the day I made a 7 steps for effective planning layout that president Pearson talked about and I planned to apply it when I saw her again.  And we had a small "intervention" like the STLS do so that we can come to a resolution and that was good.  In the interviews, he asked me if I felt ok to train and I was not sure. I didn't get any training about how to be a trainer or what I s...

The Rains Came Down And The Floods Came Up

Image
Mis amigos, I can't express how this was by far the hardest week of my mission. I have never relied on the lord as much as I did this week.  We got to our apartment on Tuesday, and Wednesday our apartment started flooding. We cleaned the flood up with my one bath towel and some hand towels. But the next 3 days, we were borrowing our neighbors shop vac and cleaning it 3 times a day. Day 4, half of our carpet was soaked, it started seeping into the bedrooms, and our house was HUMID. We had been calling the landlords, handymans, a senior couple over the housing department, but they said it would be better to stay in the apartment than to go and live in the small "shack". We were exhausted, I haven't been able to sleep before 11:30 since the first day until last night. We kept trying to clean because in our heads we thought "This is our responsibility" but we couldn't fulfill our missionary responsibilities and clean the water. On Saturday, they took us to t...
